British house pioneers Soul II Soul are taking their classic Club Classics Vol. 1 on the road. Few albums could be labelled more appropriately – ‘Back to Life’ and ‘Keep On Movin’ are still recognisable bangers to this day.
Their arrival in 1989 signalled the beginning of a boom time for R&B, as the styles of dance, house and African drum music began to blend into daytime pop radio. ‘Back to Life’ was at the heart of this – Will Smith can be heard humming the tune in the first season of The Fresh Prince.
To mark their thirtieth anniversary, the duo are hitting the road throughout the UK starting at Birmingham and ending in Gateshead.
Now is a perfect time to relive their era defining first LP and get hyped for October.
